have you ever drawn hope before? i'd be interested to see how similar and different you draw her compared to jean

to be soooo honest i know absolutely nothing about hope. i think the only thing i've really paid attention to her in is a bit of x-force. so how i draw her involves REALLY vague memories of what her costume's like, and also a hesitant recollection that she inherits her father's propensity for scifi weaponry.

Bucky: Team Roping (specifically he's the heeler), He used to do it with Steve (Header) but he got hurt and during that time Steve retired. He did tie down for a short time after steve cuz he didn't want a new partner, but when Sam asked him to do team roping with him he agreed.

Sam: Team Roping (Header) with Bucky. I also think he does trick roping but that's not a real event.

John: He does Tie Down Roping now, but he used to be the header of a team with Lemar. They were a team for years

Lemar: Does Steer Wrestling now because he thinks it's cooler. He used to be the heeler in team roping with John

Bob: Bullriding because that's the biggest event in the rodeo and Bob is supposed to be the best hero ever right? He was rookie of the year and did really really well for a long time, but because he was always on the road he went a big nuts broke some bones and now he's a bit washed up

Jimmy: bareback bronc rider. He was really good, but got injured and stopped riding for years. He mostly trains people now.

Exodus: Saddle Bronc Rider. He used to travel with Dane back when they were both rookies but they had a big falling out

which characters do you think are fans of simon's filmography? or at least enjoy his acting in some of his movies lol

So, we canonically know Johnny is a fan.

The Avengers also showed up to the premiere of Damage Control, which implies they care enough to show support for him. Don't worry about the dialogue, it isn't important.

There's also the evergreen Mr Muscles moment which Hank found hilarious, and apparently it's become something of a cult classic due to Hank promoting it.

There's also a pretty active fanclub dedicated to Simon and his roles, which garnered enough traction that they invited the head of the fanclub to Simon's funeral when he did in '94, from Tales of the Marvels: Wonder Years, so clearly his roles struck enough of a cord for people to make their own newspaper dedicated to him, which is something.

We also see the kids in Avengers Academy Marvel Voices Infinity Comic watching a film of his in #1.

I probably shouldn't count this because it's an AU, but it is really funny, so in the Avengers: United They Stand continuity, Sam Wilson canonically got inspired to become a superhero by watching films Simon was in.

Batroc the Leaper, of all people, is also a fan, and claims Simon is really popular in France, which is very funny to me.

I'm sure there are other examples I'm missing, but that's the majority of what I can remember!

Every time I think “oh, it would have been great if we’d have gotten WestCOT or Californian DisneySea”, I unfortunately remember that, should either of those projects have happened, they would have still been handled by the executives and tight budgets that ultimately hampered DCA.  So, even if they had happened, they’d probably also be sad disasters.

its very clearly people thinking the actors are hot and putting the two white boys together. john/lemar is better. the fans are scared of actual conflict and don't know a single thing about john walker. if it were to happen they should be tearing each other apart in horrible ways and should make each other worse

23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?

I do a lot of like team au ideas but i don't think I've ever actually written one despite really really loving making team aus so I think that (sorta did this with undying avengers but that was with help)

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

Um no I dont think so. Ive written one thing that i was like okay this is probably not okay to share, but I wouldn't say that it was out of my comfort zone.

31. What’s your ideal fic length to write?

I usually prefer short fics/one-shots. So my ideal is a one-shot that's 2-8k words.

45. What’s something you’ve improved on since you started writing fic?

Hm. I think writing things that have emotional beats. I used to have a lot of trouble writing stuff where the characters are emotional but i think I've gotten better at that

what do you think of trish tilby and her relationship with hank?

Trish Tilby dares to ask the question, what if Lois Lane was kind of racist and sucked?

No but genuinely I do find her kind of interesting as a character. I see her as being fairly isolated as a person; we learn very little of her larger social / familial life iirc and it seems to me that she's very dedicated and married to her job, and everything else is secondary, be it romance or ethics, which is an interesting character trait as a woman. She will prioritise her status and reputation as a journalist over any sense of love or respect for the people she's supposed to love, and that kind of hard-line dedication to her work is interesting to me. She also, with Hank, initially got entangled with him when he was human-appearing and dumb, and I don't think she's ever quite learned how to accept him in any other way. She does in abstract, but I think Trish prefers to be the most intellectual person in the room and when someone else is, especially a man, she doesn't quite like that feeling because she's worked so hard to get to where she is.

She's also low-key butch in her first appearance and I think they should have kept this vibe for her.

I don't necessarily think she's the devil incarnate though, as some people do... She's kind of in the same category as Crystal is to me, which is that she objectively Is Not A Very Good Person but I think she still has an understandable and realistic character underneath that and I think we allow so many male characters to be bad people and still be interesting that we can afford that decency to women characters too. Like, she's in SUCH a male dominated field and I find it interesting that her desire to succeed overrides her ethics and her emotional connections with other people in her life.

She's a good antagonistic figure in X-Men without being a villain and I kind of like that. I also think the idea of an imperfect ally who has massive unexamined biases that negatively effect the people in her life, but still arguably has done a lot of good for the mutant cause by being a sympathetic voice in the media is an interesting avenue for a character.
