" i don’t know how to make things right. so i’ll just keep pretending that nothing’s wrong. "
* A SOFTER WORLD SENTENCES \ NOT ACCEPTING \ WESTFLED .
‘ ... sometimes it’s okay for things to be wrong. ’ she shrugs her shoulders, a knowing frown pulling ever so gently at crimson painted lips as her head shakes slowly. ‘ you’ll never know how to make something right if you can’t admit it’s wrong, and you can’t always fix things right away. that’s okay too. ’ sure, she was the poster child for denial, but she had since learned from those mistakes and would like to avoid her sister making similar ones. ‘ in fact, some problems can’t be fixed at all, but if we don’t admit they’re problems, they’ll just eat away at us until there’s nothing left. ’ when had she become so wise ? \ @westfled .
‘I’m so sorry’, Anita cries, clicking her fingers to summon her dogs back to her side, hurrying forwards to help the woman gather up the books scattered over the pavement, ‘they’re usually much better behaved than that’.
She stands, an armful of books clutched to her chest, and gives the other woman a smile. She looks familiar, like she’s seen her in passing but never actually spoken to her before, and she shuffles the books to the side so that she can extend her hand. ‘Anita Darling. I’m so sorry about Jasper and Horace. You’re not afraid of dogs, are you?’

Lillian has just finished preparing a meal when the woman starts to stir. She waves her hand to lower the fire to a simmer, not wanting to spoil the soup, and crosses to the bed. She kneels down beside it, aware that her height can seem a little intimidating, and that this woman doesn’t know her. ‘Hello’, she says gently, as bright eyes open to stare at her, ‘please don’t be alarmed. I found you out in the forest, and you seemed like you could use somewhere more comfortable to sleep’.
She extends her hand, keeping her smile gentle. ‘I’m Lillian’.

The woman is green. It’s dark enough that Ingrith doesn’t realise until she’s approached her, and she stares in astonishment at the patches of green skin covering the sleeping woman’s face. The forest is still and silent, her men hidden in the trees, and she has no idea what she’s doing leaning up against the tree, except that she certainly looks like a witch. She’s also not entirely sure she’s not dead.
Quietly, Ingrith draws her bow, and uses the end to nudge the woman’s foot. ‘Hello?’ she says, raising her voice slightly in the hope of waking her. ‘Are you alright?’

‘ i won’t make you talk about it. you know that. ’ a sigh flees her open mouth, brows furrowing as deep creases cut through her forehead. a pang of guilt rang through her chest the moment it had come to light that elphaba had shot greg. she should have been there for her, should have been strong enough to stay awake. if she had just kept her eyes open, she could have been there for her. regina knew well and good her sister could handle herself, even in her worst moments she did not need her. the queen knew her to be a strong woman, even further reinstated by recent events, but perhaps she could have eased things slightly. that would have been enough for her, enough to take the regret from her chest. she was not awake, though.
‘ i just ... i was surprised. i really thought david had fired those shots. ’ \ @westfled .
❝ i can’t hunt worth a damn and you knew this already. ❞ a hissed reply as the smaller man follows behind arthur who seems intent of killing the biggest moose east of the girzzlies. like always, it’s COLD and that’s something the mexican born and raised can’t seem to adjust to no matter if he’s dressed for the climate change with his trusty SERAPE clutching at broad shoulders. people. jaiver could hunt. he was an excellent fisherman-- but this? not so much. still, he couldn’t deny arthur when he kept asking all morning, choosing him instead of hosea shockingly enough. all javier can focus on is the massive hoof tracks that lead further towards those dreaded mountains.
