Westpoint Island, Falklands, 29/1/20. An amazing location with a great Black-browed Albatross and Rockhopper Penguin colony. Due to the weather the 3 week trip was done in reverse, literally changing the itinerary on the day we left Ushuaia in early Jan. So we went anticlockwise - Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, Falklands, when the original plan was the other way. On leaving West Point Island we returned to Ushuaia for our turnaround - exactly one year ago at the end of Jan. During the cruise the virus epidemic had hit the news, but seemed so far away. However, we started to have the first impact in Ushaia. Heading off on our next cruise, in early Feb to the Antarctica Circle, we had fewer guests onboard since a number of Chinese guests were unable to join us with the lockdown in China in the belated attempt to stop the spread.
