OH BOY. I've got a lot to say on this one. He was turned into a one-note asshole in War For Cybertron, when that was the opposite of his prior personality. This shows most in his dynamic with Starscream, Jetfire's whole relationship with Starscream was entirely mishandled. Back in G1, there was a sort of tragedy to their separation, a friendship torn apart by the tragedy of war. And I'm not saying everything has to be like G1. But he's got the aesthetic and story beats of his old self, a Decepticon who felt uncomfortable with what they were doing, had a falling out with Starscream, and left. They clearly wanted to pay lip service to his story, but didn't know what made that story work at all, in a way that makes it feel hollow. In this specific adaptation, Jetfire starts out, off the hop just kind of being mean, and SLICES STARSCREAM'S ARM OFF, like, first scene we meet him, and continues being cold and cruel throughout! Even after he joins the Autobots, he still isn't great. As one of my favorites, it frustrates me to see him like this. War For Cybertron had a problem with making everyone one-note and mean as a substitute for depth, but it truly hit Jetfire the hardest.

Propaganda:

G1 Skyfire's storyline has a lot of heart and soul put into it. Fire in the Sky is possibly MY FAVORITE episode of G1. So it breaks my heart to see when he hasn't been done justice. War For Cybertron Jetfire, in my opinion, was a hollow echo, a shell of what he'd been before, and it breaks my heart.
