Hello, I would love to sign up for Shaken, not stirred as an artist but does it really require me to get an LJ account to do so?
You ask an excellent question! Here is a longish answer:
Having the signups on LJ happens for two reasons: one, it’s how we’ve done it since 2005, and two, we really haven’t found a better way to do it. Anyone can comment on an LJ post, though -- at worst, it’ll give you a CAPTCHA to make sure you’re not a spambot. You can use OpenID to comment with any of several different social media accounts, or you can comment anonymously.
Mostly what having an LJ account does is give other people an easy way to contact you, which is useful if you’re volunteering to illustrate someone else’s story. However, you can also leave other contact information and art samples for prospective collaborators to view. And if you’re just doing art all by yourself, or if you know your co-creator already, it doesn’t much matter!
And of course, you don’t have to sign up to participate. As I’m fond of saying, there are several reasons signing up is a good idea, but at the end of the day, what matters is what’s in our inbox at the deadline.
Thanks for asking! Always glad to clarify.
Hello
This will be an attempt at regular blogging by wfl-art
Damnit sunners you make me want to draw dragon age shenanigans too (started on Origins a little while ago and so far it's gold)
Do it. Draw until your heart is content.
And then draw more.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't sure if I was gonna like Origins at first but had this D&D vibe going for it so I got sucked in pretty fast.
