They are basically orcas” Exactly, they are. And guess who got whaled too? Orcas.... Humankinds urge to get rid of creatures for one reason or the other stops for nothing. @mental-autopsy

I just want to say while some of the information in this is wrong (these are pilot whales not Calderon dolphins, because that's not an animal), it is still true that the slaughter of these animals happens every year. Even from a preservation of  cultural customs standpoint it should not be allowed to continue in this way. The ritual is no longer viable in this day and age as pilot whale meat is not fit for human consumption (the levels of mercury in the meat are too high). This is not a cull for preservation. This is not a hunt for food. The ritual is barbaric and outdated. Please share to spread the word.
