I found hundreds of these bugs on the rocks right at water level! They were not very skittish, and they ranged from about a centimeter in length to maybe even two inches. I'd like an ID, without posting the location publicly, but submissions aren't working for me, so I'll send in a second ask with just the location. :)
Looks like wharf lice! They're a type of isopod found in tidal areas.

A cutie! It’s a sea slater, which is a type of isopod. This species in particular is called a wharf louse :)
@onelaststarrise submitted: Hello! I was down in North Beach, MD over the weekend and was absolutely ENCHANTED by all of these little isopod friends running all over the rocks at the edge of the water. No ID necessary; I just wanted to share them because they were a delight.
They were very skittish, but incredibly cute. I hope they're having wonderful isopod lives.
