“What is Life? What is Death? These are the Questions I ask myself..” (Vent/Talk)
So last night when I was doing…. okay, but this feeling I get when I think about… Death and Life. I questioned about everything, and I even worried about myself if I die.. Would I forget about myself as a Spirit or something…?
I don’t know.
I absolutely don’t know, When I asked my Mom about it as I felt a bit down and feeling Uh.. Anxious. She talked to me about life and Death what she knows, and What I am doing in life is do something More than Staying at Kokum’s and even I am Working at the store which is good for me working hard. I was even told to spend time with Friends in rl and my Older sister.. Especially my Dad.
After this talk with My Mom as she took me to work this morning, It really helped and made me feel better. I love my Mom as Always, and what she does for me even though there are some heated moments.. but she’s what I have in my family.
Heck.. As I was thinking about it, I should chat more with my online friends too as well on discord mostly and other Social Medias. So.. I have something I would like to give an Advice to all and especially my friends who are reading this:
“Enjoy your Life by spending time with your Family, Friends and Even doing something you have for your goals.. even Life can be hard and difficult but.. You’ll get through.”
Oh, and Nothing Last forever too, as well.. you’ll never know.
I hope you learn that and That’s all.

Welcome, Welcome!
‘ that’s quite a scratch you’ve got there.’
as unforgettable, he pondered a look down to the inside of his arm. following the line which only shown something he grew accustomed. a feeling he could not understand; pain. hinted purple and brown orbs slitted with concentration. What is Death?
No, that’s not a rhetorical question.
For a fear we share, I haven’t actually gone into what Death is. Perhaps that seems like a common sense thing – to know what Death is – but there was a time in our lives when we didn’t know what it was.
The definition of Death on the dictionary is: “the permanent ending of vital processes in a cell or tissue”.
Dead is defined as: “no longer alive”.
Alive is then defined as: “Living, not dead”.
And living: “Alive.”
Death is defined by what it is not in this circular way. I think I actually chose the 3rd definition of Death to get away from it, because the others pointed to Dead. Being alive is also defined by what it is not – which is Dead.
Being Dead is the cessation of both physical and mental activity. No longer can we move our body as we like nor do we have thoughts. That is what it means to be dead, disregarding all possibility of an afterlife where our “self” continues, because I do not adhere to such beliefs, nor do I consider it likely. I’m not here to feed false hopes.
That is it, clinically – but we all know that Death feels like so much more, because the act of moving and thinking and feeling seem like so much more.
Death can seem like a release, or like the greatest betrayal of our bodies.
Death is an absence of a friend, never to return.
And because of how constant Death is, how impactful Death is, we have created a culturally significant ways to acknowledge Death.
With Halloween season upon us, that’s much easier to see as skeletons abound, as do tombstones, ghosts, crows, black cats – numerous symbols of Death, and even of defying Death, as in the form of Ghosts and Vampires.
So when I ask, what is Death – I am asking, what is Death to you?
What is the Good, and what is the Bad?
The clinical definition makes it seem that Death should be obvious. It is the end of life. No longer being alive. Being dead.
But Death is so much more – and perhaps it is odd that as a Thanatophobe, Halloween is my favorite holiday – a season that abounds with gruesome horror movies and symbols of death everywhere.
So what is your Death?
My Death is white roses and dove dark chocolate bars. Hot mochas, not cold – except at the start of the New Year, when Death is an iced White & Black Mocha, to bid farewell. My Death is satisfied with these things, and finds closure in these small acts.
My Death is the blue heron, not a cardinal – and yet like the cardinal it feels warm, not cold. It’s been that way since I saw the blue heron after my great grandpa’s funeral, and it will be that way forever. There’s a blue heron that visits the pond at my workplace often. I think of it as a friend.
My Death is Halloween and Fall, but more Fall-Winter, not Summer-Fall, because Fall-Winter is Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is my Death, and if I could explain why, I would, all I know is that Thanksgiving feels like an end and has felt like an end ever since my mom, myself, and my brother were kicking a can for hours one night in a Barnes and Noble parking lot on Thanksgiving, after dining at a buffet.
My Death is spending time thinking about the deaths of others and wishing I could find a way to stop it.
My Death is My Death, and striving to accept it, even where I do not try to accept the Deaths of others. Even when their Death would logically come before mine.
My Death isn’t in horror movies, but show me a medical drama and I’m out.
My Death is in Death of the Endless, who doesn’t know what exists beyond Death.
My Death are towels that smell like cigarette smoke, because I had them with me when I was away from home, and it smelled like home. One day, that will be lost to me, unless I choose to use cigarettes as incense.
My Death is a hospital chapel I used to pray at, even when I didn’t know who or what I was praying to. It’s still a place of calm for me, despite my atheism.
Death is indeed a grouping of cultural and societal symbols – but Death takes on personal notes because Death is personal.
For some people, it’s a certain smell, or a certain taste. It could be a certain location.
Death is in everything. Everywhere.
Death is the permanent ending of vital processes in a cell or tissue. We can get the news of this happening, at any moment, doing any thing, and tie Death to numerous things, for that.
Life is hard. It's unknown. Every day you step forward on that path to death. Its looming over your shoulder every day. But what is death? What is life? It's so hard to know anything, about anyone. To be able to trust anything or a fact when it's been told. Our lives are spent withering away while we just stand there, unable to take control. You blink once and it has already moved on, dragging you with it, whether you like it or not.
