I need to get out of this agency.
We're preparing to adopt a new EHR (electronic health record) so things are pretty tense around the agency.
In the last two weeks, 8 employees have resigned or just flat walked out. Which some of that is expected, thin the herd and all that. But deeper issues are at play apparently.
Friday was a "staff appreciation" day for recovery month. They made a big speech, fed us lunch, and let us go early. Oh, except for the 7 employees that they rounded up, stuck in an HR conference room and told them they no longer had positions. With the new EHR, a lot of data entry will be done by only a few. So a lot of admin positions, apparently, are being cut. And instead of taking some time and respecting their employees by informing each of them individually, they decide to make it easier and just cut them all at once.
My job description is changing, which I expected. But instead of one person, my supervisor, explaining what I'd now be responsible for, I have HER supervisor telling me one thing, the program manager telling me another, and various employees telling me what they've heard.
I've hit my frustration point. I used to think this was a great place to work. The agency seemed to treat their employees well. And on the surface, that's true. It's not until you get deeper or more connected to the administration that you see it's much uglier.
Five grievances against a program manager for sexual harassment apparently doesn't affect employment. He's still a supervisor and head of our judicial programs.
Supervisors asking another departments employee to inform their fellow co worker that their job will be changing and must move offices to make way for said supervisors employee is apparently acceptable (that sentence is pretty convoluted, but I need to rant this out).
I keep applying for jobs. In the last three weeks I've applied to about 9 different jobs. If it's remotely related to social work and not counseling, I'm applying for it.
I just need to get out of here.
