“Jonathan” Mike was relieved to see someone was home, he had decided to drop off some homework for Will who was home sick, but a part of him had worried that he wouldn’t find anyone and that maybe Mrs. Byers had taken Will to the doctor or something. “Is Will okay?”

“You’re not Nancy” he backpedaled as he realized that the person in front of him who distinctly looked like his sister, was actually NOT.

“Hey Nancy? Can I ask you something?” there had been a lingering thought looming in the back of his mind as things returned to a somewhat normal state. Their parents were oblivious as always, believing that Mike had stayed over at Will’s because he had been worried about his friend being sick. But a part of him wondered if maybe Nancy thought that they should tell their parents something of what they had lived, or if keeping the secret would be better for all of them.

“Steve” he was growing used to having Steve Harrington around, maybe it was the fact that he’d been dating his sister since all of their lives turned upside down. But it still was weird to have him around, especially because Mike knew about his reputation and still vividly remembered the older boy sneaking into his sister’s room. “Nancy’s not home”

It wasn’t that Mike hated Steve. He honestly had no real opinion on him, other than the time they’d briefly spent together when all hell was breaking loose. He knew that at one point, he made his sister happy. Which, despite Mike attempting to act differently, made Mike relieved because his sister should be happy. Even if she wasn’t always the nicest sister, but hey he wasn’t a good brother sometimes either. But still, the fact that things had changed so drastically, and that now someone else was making Nancy happy, and Steve was still around, it was weird. Maybe it was the fact that Dustin insisted that Steve was amazing, but Mike hadn’t really ever thought that. “Hey Steve” there’s an awkward sort of wave as he tries of something else to say other than the obvious question of why he was being approached by the older boy.

“Nancy?” he asked as he looked up from the homework assignment he was working on, “Is something wrong?”
