Probably every day at some point I say the words "what are you -doing/looking for/thinking about/etc?" and nearly all of those times I shorten it to just be 'whatchya" and I could not tell you where the ch sound comes from it just feels right

Is there a reason for this? Is it an accent thing? I grew up all around North America and never developed any specific accent I don't think, when I was learning to speak I was in the north and the west but I've spent most of my time in the south. Idk any theories anyone?
