Accents and patterns of speech to me are so cool to me, but it's so weird for myself bc I was born in the north (USA), and moved to the south (USA) so I have an in-between accent that fluctuates between "HEY Y'ALL HOWSIT GOIN'?" to "Hey you guys :)"
And let's not even start with the random British-esque way I talk on a random day. Like idk if it's just in my genes or some shit but I have to mentally correct myself when I speak out loud bc my brain is all "top of the morning to ya!"

You know I find I do enjoy jokes ragging on characters in fiction for talking in ways that are very complex and wordy and flowery, the 'no one would talk like that in real life, they talk like vampires, they talk like it's scripted' but also... I do in fact somewhat frequently talk 'like that' in real life, in conversation. Because genuinely, if one is enough of a bibliophile, or just... To be quite honest, autistic enough (both happen to apply to me), one's actual, real time speech AND thoughts start sounding like dialogue from Hannibal NBC. My joking contribution to a conversation about my grandpa's funny t-shirt reading 'No, the car isn't finished' was "And how many years has that been applicable?" just as natural as anything. I just fucking talk like that. I'm 23 years old form a lower-middle class family and my immediate waking thought the other morning form deep sleep was 'It must be after 10 am, as I was just awoken by the sound of my dog barking at what I can only assume is the mailman'
Question! Does anyone have a general formula for Rook’s speech patterns? Obviously he’s poetic and flowery, but I want more specifics. There has to be a few basic formulas for his speech pattern. I’m asking the community because other people, specifically @es-sharezone compiles Rook info better than I do lol.
An example of a formula I came up with is “How to create a Malfoy insult”
Insult their family (bonus points for parentage)
Insult their financial status
If u wanna be fancy, insult their intelligence
It’s easy, simple, and clear. Plus, there’s room for variety.
With Rook’s, it’ll have to be a little more structured.
Like what topics does he become poetic about? I assume it’s beauty, but Rook finds beauty in everything. Is part of the formula to figure out how something is beautiful and use that as inspiration for the poetic part?
Does he usually view objects or actions to be more beautiful? Or is it equal? He seems more like the type to be focused on people and their actions than objects or whatever.
What do his metaphors and similes and etc contain? Are they about nature? What is he comparing the stuff too?
When is he not super poetic??? Cause Rook is more poetic than not. However, I vaguely remember a few times when he wasn’t. I haven’t looked at Vil’s Lab Outfit Card in awhile, but he criticized Vil’s weight in that one (because he knew Vil would care, but still). These r important cause they’re out of the norm, so I wanna make sure I find out about this too.

Odd confession; I love seeing people pick up on my speech habits. I love watching someone slowly start to use my vernacular, use my frequent slang and phrases that I know I've never seen them use before.
The writing urge to not just give my characters distinct ways of speech, but for their speech to adjust throughout the novels as they become friends with one another and unconsciously start mimicing the others' speech patterns
