hey guys, tumblr user mirrormirrorcrystalball here to inform you that despite fixating on ninjago since it was released i really do have a billion and one gripes with this show (as everyone else surely does).
sometimes i think about how this show was supposed to end at season 2. and then again at season 10. and then again at season 15. and it's still ongoing. and i kind of think about what we wouldn't have learned about this world if it had ended any of those previous times. i said in a previous post that it took 19 seasons of this show for them to tell us what lloyd's powers actually were, and it kind of seemed like they had put it off long enough and then finally felt the need to address it. after 15 years. lloyd is my least favorite ninja in a serious way, but to be someone who saw him grow up through the show it still meant something when they finally addressed the whole "skipped childhood thing" and he got to confront his younger self, like that was really cool and all. however. i hate how they sideline kai (although he's one of the ninja that's kinda ok again). they made zane super serious in a way that isn't funny or charming like it used to be. cole has always been disregarded as not important since the show started and that's generally always been sickening. jay is now comic relief in the way that they're all making fun of him for being a stupid baby instead of HIM making the jokes to cheer everyone up. nya is alright i guess. most of dragons rising is newgen slop to me and i really don't care about it but also this franchise is still near and dear to me so i got no choice but to keep up with it.
they also barely expand upon previous plot points anymore and instead make up new stuff for the sake of 'entertainment value' and 'selling product' i suppose? not to be oldgen but i really don't care if there's a gong of shattering, i would honestly care more about if jay's ever gonna claim his inheritance from his rich birth parents. like honestly whatever dude i understand not being the target audience anymore but why are we changing so many plot points in the lore to the degree of the prophecy that the ENTIRE SHOW IS BASED UPON isn't even taken seriously. when that wood dragon or whatever said that there were multiple green ninjas in histories past... don't piss me off rn. like what are we DOING.

i saw one just now (at a pub), and why was it lowkey a fucking maze??? i finished my business and went to go check out the ambulant toilet bcs i like seeing how they’ve modified for people (personal interest dont ask bruh or do idm), and theres this tight twisty corridor leading to a rectangle toilet stall which is also thin and the door is fucking inconvenience personified…..
