i do love my fucked up slightly toxic kaebedo but i think the critical factor that makes it hit so hard is that they're always on equal footing

they're both high (but equally!) ranking knights with quite a bit of sway in the local community. kaeya might be known for his smooth talking but albedo has his own charms and tbh not having a reputation for dishonesty probably does him a lot of favours there; he has a very earnest way about him. albedo might be a scholar but kaeya's clever in his own right (and i'll never buy that kaeya isn't also book smart, crepus absolutely had a private tutor for his kids c'mon). and i've always liked the idea that even if kaeya is physically stronger and more experienced in combat than albedo, albedo's prowess in alchemy makes him more powerful overall,,, but that's a bit of a personal indulgence. anyway

anyway tl;dr kaebedo mind games are fun but only because you don't know who's going to win.... it's all reciprocal.......

So if Jay and Nya are the sole memory carriers of Skybound, then at one point they are each the only one who remembers it, because they both have a memory wipe arc respectively. Now my new theory is that even though they're both restored now, they have no memory of it at all. Somehow when they get their memories back, Skybound wasn't included because it isn't a part of the current 'timeline' if that makes sense. The memories that were restored where only what they were "supposed" to remember, meaning that it's an event that is truly lost to the sands of time.

But this is also prolly just my way of coping from Nya not being the least bit wary of arrakore or jay not having any s6 scenes play in the DR memory recall scene.

Updated thought in vague relation to this: does Nadakhan remember everything that happened? He is re-trapped in the teapot of Tyrahn, but surely he remembers the wishes he casts, right? So theoretically if he has been trapped all of these years waiting to be freed again to seek vengence on Nya and Jay, and then they don't even remember him?? That's kinda comical. And in relation to the fact that Arrakore is rebuilding Djinnjago, Nadakhan will already be stronger than he was in s6 to start. Maybeee him and Arrakore have a face off of sorts as well?
