Imagine the amount of strength it takes to surpass a cancer diagnosis... ⠀ ⠀ Think of a roller coaster. You get on. You ride. You get off. Do that everyday you are in treatment. Then flip a coin. Wait 3 months for it to drop. A waiting game on whether or not you’re closer to death or more days of life. ⠀ ⠀ Then you start all over again. ⠀ ⠀ Keeping in mind life doesn’t stop because you have cancer. You are no longer working and the bills continue to come in. Spouse takes on second job to help but eventually wears out worried about you sick, you dying, life after you, worried about the children.. meanwhile trying to navigate 2 jobs and a wife that can’t even get out of her own bed at times. At a point of your greatest “strength” although it feels like weakness, you finally make the decision to let go, to leave both jobs and take a leave to save your family. You are their rock no matter what angle you are being kicked at you keep going... because they need you. ⠀ ⠀ Your teenagers.. well I’m sure we all remember how hard that was 😳 .. throw a sick mom into that mix and stir. Think of that cake batter you need to get smooth. (Sorry kids, it’s just an analogy) The teens are the two lumps left in the batter you just keep trying to squish, stir, whatever it takes to destroy them and make them melt into the mix. As their parents we’re honest with ours, so they are along for the ride. As parents we pray. And we love. We pray. And we love. Over and over. We pray. And we love. We never stop. ⠀ ⠀ I can not speak for all people with a cancer diagnosis but my experience is VERY REAL as one individual person diagnosed. 🦋⠀ ⠀ This has been our life over the last 2yrs+1month. We are killin it as a team BECAUSE we have all of you supporting us and loving us ... EVERY DAMN DAY! 🙏🏼❤️⠀ ⠀ Love is the answer and always has been.
