Coronavirus: Two Small Ways to Reduce Risk
1 Wheely Bins: the refuse collectors in our area wear gloves to protect their hands from contact with the bins, but those same gloves will handle many bins in a short space of time.
We now move our own bins back to their home without actually touching them. Also we have a simple tool for opening and closing. It is a piece of plastic piping about one foot (30cm) long, but you could use a cardboard tube or a length of wood. Be careful to always hold it at the same end!
2 Incoming Post: Unless urgent, we don’t handle our post for (say) three days. There should be no risk of contagion after this time (unless the science has changed very recently).
