Do you regret it?
"Wow." Brie's eyes widened at the information Grace gave her. "That's...a lot."
"I know," Grace sighed. Even giving an abridged history of the train without the magic was exhausting to share, but she owed it to her partner if they were going to be a thing.
"Do you regret it?" Grace opened her mouth in defense before Brie stopped her short. "And I don't mean the cult stuff, I mean running away from home."
That question was a lot harder to answer. Grace looked around her new room; from personalized photos hanging on the walls to her colorful furniture, this would not be something allowed in her parents' house.
"It's complicated," she finally settled on, fidgeting with the arm of her stuffed turtle to avoid looking at Brie. "If I stayed at home, I wouldn't have done all that bad stuff, but then I wouldn't have met Ryan, or Min-Gi, or you. Sometimes, I wish I could delete the mistakes, but I don't think I would be here without them." She huffed. "Sorry, I'm just rambling."
"Not at all." Brie wrapped her arms around Grace, giving that smile that eased her nerves. "For what it's worth, I'm glad they brought you to me, too."
@femslash-february is brought to you by my first public fic, When Train Tracks Intersect! I had given Grace a QPP, and while I never got to write it I always thought about how it would go when she finally reveals her past
