Original caption is below. The great update is that Shtisel Season 3 is now a reality 👌. I love the one where he had a pic of the guys from the When Heroes Fly cast up on screen. ******* November 21, 2019 And here are some pictures of Michael Aloni (@michaelaloni) from the main part of the event. They are not the best quality as I had to zoom in a lot. Tonight's event for the Canadian Magen David Adom (@canadianmda) included multple speakers: several higher ups in the organization, a woman from the Israeli consulate, several amazing paramedics from Israel, and an Israeli father whose daughter and son in law's lives were saved after a terrorist attack last December because of paramedics. There were 900 people at the event. Magen David Adom, or MADA, seems to be doing great work in Israel and I'm not surprised Michael wanted to be part of the event. 🇨🇦🇮🇱 Michael talked about a number of things in his section: how he originally thought he would be a scientist, how he got into acting with Hashminya, how he then went to acting school for three years, his role on Shtisel & the research they all did, The Voice Israel, and When Heroes Fly & how it shone a light on PTSD. He reconfirmed that Season 2 is definitely happening for WHF. When asked about Season 3 of Shtisel, he said it is being worked on, but the rest is unknown. I didn't really learn anything new (except that Michael can speak a little French, his extended family in Toronto was at the event, and that we apparently missed each other at the CN Tower today), but he is so engaging & such a good storyteller, that I enjoy hearing the stories again. The last time I got to see Michael Aloni (@michaelaloni). The last time I got to hug Michael Aloni! It all seems kind of surreal at this point. I know I've written about this before, but I'm doing it again. I found out about the Toronto @canadianmda event when I was in Manchester last September for the second of Michael's events. I was messaging with the regional director two days later while waiting for my flight to take off from London. We talked when I got home & he offered me access to the VIP event if I would buy my ticket right then because he was impressed that I would travel in from Chicago. (Most of the VIP were big 💲💲 donors.) At the event, a very nice guy saw me with my phone out & chatted with me a bit. He offered to take pictures of me with Michael (in addition to the professional photographer). So kind, especially as it took awhile for me to make my way to Michael! It was so great when Michael spotted me in line, a friendly face he knew 😊. My original caption is below. And apparently, the best pictures? I must not have posted them until after midnight or until the next day, as they didn't pop up in my memories yet.
