Wheylan the Wheelwright [fanart]
Finally had time to draw as I have a small break between my exams this weekend so I thought I'd finally get to work with my fanarts for people as I have a long long list of KoM ocs I wanna draw and for some reason I felt like I needed to start with Wheylan; I think it's the hair. It seemed so fun to draw as I rarely get to draw such curly hair in my art honestly Wheylan belongs to @beelivableflop
I hope I did your boy justice when it comes to the looks! I think they are absolutely pretty and I love their hair. I needed to go through some of the stuff on your master list to get to know him better and to have some references, and since we know that he rarely takes care of his hair now I kind of tried to implement that here by making the hair a bit messy and uneven. Hope that's at least a bit accurate to what you imagine them to look like ^^' I did not get to read all of his lore, but I can already tell you I love them and their story! Also, thank you, bee, for all the support you have shown me in my work, especially with the asks for Ilian, appreciate it <3
I saw everyone else doing their puppets without puppet shells and decided to try it out.
Here, I have created Wheylan. Their real body is naturally warm (think around the average room temperature), which makes them a little sticky. You can imagine their body being like melted candy. It feels silky, it's shiny, but also leaves a faint residue. By washing your hands, the residue comes off very easy.
Since they were young, they knew that their body could be used as a sort of glue. For those who remember, their cheek looks cracked. However, it's actually not. The pieces are there, but his body has seeped through to help repair it, therefore staining the porcelain permanently.
If there isn't enough porcelain to seal the spot (like the cracks under their eyes) then they can't do anything about it. Some of the 'cracks' under the eyes are actually tear stains.
If/when they overextend their powers, their body starts to melt, causing them to seep out of their shell until he can pull himself back together.
Admittedly, like this, he can be played with like Play-Doh, not that it's recommended unless the other person/puppet is someone they trust.
In terms of how big they are, they can be compressed into something that can be held in someone's arms. I do not recommend this because he will feel cramped. Perhaps even offended. It all depends on who the person/puppet holding them is.
They weigh around 100 pounds/45 kilograms. In fluid weight, that translates to around 13 gallons/49 liters. I had to use convertors for this as I am not good at math.
I am currently stumped on my written works, so I decided to draw while I wait for the writing passion to come back to me.
So, here we have Wheylan dressed up and posing as "Trinity" once more, politely barging into a friend's room to ask if the other person (hint: "Lady Ladine") if they want to do a sort of "Girls Night" at the tailors.
"At peace, friend. It's just me. There are some nice green dresses on discount. I'll pay for us both; my treat to someone who's been so kind to me."
And we're at a point where I'm dressing my character up in other character's clothing.
I imagine Wheylan is wearing this at a faire and is posing with a totally fake sword for the camera. Don't worry, fellow human, the grey skin and strange eyes are part of the cosplay.
Rather than having their hair in the braid Dukemir uses (or as I call it, the "dead anime mother hair"), Wheylan went with a petal bun, I think it's called. I didn't draw the braids well, though, ugh.
Unfortunately, Ryan could not be part of the picture because wild animals are not recommended to be around ren faires. That's probably a health hazard, though Ryan is most certainly not one.
However, I drew my lovely child with his normal eyes this time, which is to say I didn't draw them correctly for a good chunk of this month (lore on said eyes coming very soon).
Referenced character: Dukemir by @havocdreams
I've been looking at the difference between Wheylan's friendships compared to their other relationships and the different is so stark it's both hilarious and deeply concerning.
The friendships are cute, sweet, light-hearted, sometimes whimsical. The people he makes friends with are fun, traumatized but fun, and they mean well and somewhat do well.
Outside of friendships, it's terrible. Like, at least DarkCage [Dukemir x Eden x Wheylan] and ShadowGuard [Dukemir x Wheylan] have a chance at being healthy, but literally every other ship (minus AccidentProne because in my eyes, that's just going into the friendship category, Hale deserves better. I love the deer <3) is like, dead dove territory. Oh gods...

My Kingdom of Marionettes OC: Wheylan the Wheelwright! I'm learning how to draw, so I hope this is good, maybe. I'll make a better version of Wheylan when I can
Some fun facts:
Wheylan is shy, but not reclusive. They prefer to listen rather than to speak
They have a crush on the Farmer and even have a little drawing of him tucked in their apron
Their boots are like those shoes where if you run fast enough, wheels come out, and you can skate for a little bit. Stopping nicely is hard, though
Most of their damage is on their knees and elbows from trying to skate. They absolutely HATE getting their face damaged or stained, so they clean it as much as possible. The passage of time, though, has led them to becoming more stained and damaged, much to their displeasure
"Hellooooooo! I have returned, for another kingdom adventure! What ho, dear Wheylan! What hath thou been up to these past few days? Perhaps any news in thy hall of the theater?"
"Hail, Musketio. You caught me at a bad time... You wouldn't have happened to see a raccoon running by you on your way here, did you?"
Unfortunately, the resident wheelwright has been rather preoccupied, dear Musketeer. It seems there has been some sort of incident within their workshop! How very suspicious.
Once the mess is all cleaned up and the fire is extinguished, Wheylan would be happy to tell their friend all about the adventures they've had in babysitting a friend's pet. Many vents were explored and many situations had to be escaped from. Oh, perhaps Musketio would be interested in hearing about some rumors? It appears one of the other common folk has fallen for a noble! Or perhaps it was the other way around?
"Apparently, my friend, one of my fellow residents has fallen for a noble in the court! I don't see it going well for either party, but it would be sweet to see, wouldn't it? A tale as old as time, as they say!"
