Hey I wanted to let you know that I love your Sid/Sidalia content! I did have a question regarding the timeline, if that's okay. I was curious as to why they break up. And how they get back together later.

the break up happens because of their issues with communication - sid often assumes that d’alia will just understand how he feels while he won’t put words to his fears, while d’alia assumes what’s best for him/them and won’t ask for what she wants of him, so it leads to them tiptoeing around each other when d’alia returns from ultima thule until it reaches a breaking point. d’alia (wrongly and one-sidedly) decides it’s better if she isn’t someone else who sid has to worry about dying and hurting him, and sid doesn’t explain how he actually feels, that loving and being with her is worth the risk of more loss and heartbreak.

I tried to seed this a little in midnight mercies with sid wrangling his nightmare out of himself to talk to her about how the fear of losing her affects him, and d’alia freezes and then deflects, and then sid just simply tries to physically reassure her and hope she understands. but it’s something that sticks with her……..

their reunion happens during the DT patches timeskip where I’ve shoved the tank role quest into the timeline so d’alia has to go back to ishgard. she can’t help but check in on sid and rielle, of course, so she seeks him out. it’s stilted and weird but the love is still there, but sid asks her to stay with him at their old place in empyreum so she’s not reverting to her spiraly ways if she stays at the forgotten knight’s inn, and they end up sleeping together but unlike before, they actually talk through their residual feelings and the miscommunication of their split, so they decide to try again.

um I did not mean for this to be such an essay but thank you for asking!!!!! it’s been on my mind lately so I’m glad to talk about it too <3

Thoughts on recent Young Justice seasons? I first followed you back in the day because of the show, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the latest seasons!

I HAVE NOT WATCHED PAST SEASON TWO ACTUALLY SO I DO NOT HAVE ANY THOUGHTS RIGHT NOW AT THIS TIME :'( tbh i just can't motivate myself to get back into it... it doesn't seem like artemis is getting ESPECIALLY good content and she would be the only reason i'd check in with all the kids (adults?!) again.

the characters i was most invested in were artemis, kaldur, and bart, so if they aren't getting some strong writing i miiiight not revisit it? i am content to just hear the juicy bits from my trusted pal nate legendofjustice. he keeps me abreast of the important developments. like kaldur's BOYFRIEND!!!!!!!!

i really hope it's been fun to be in on the adventure again, though. :) sorry i don't have more thrilling thoughts to share... other than that kaldur has a BOYFRIEND and i LIKE THAT!

Okay I saw that you saw Encanto and I'm dying to talk about it with anyone at all times, so I gotta hear your thoughts on it now. It's my new favorite Disney film, it's so relatable at times.

Dare I ask about the new SU news?

So the show is finishing off (I guess) with a miniseries called “Steven Universe Future” (very anime!) that will serve as an epilogue to the series. So not exactly the full “season six” we thought we’d be getting, but still more SU stuff, they released the opening sequence for it today. Don’t know how long it will be but like a fool I continue to hope.

Can we talk about how dumb of a writing choice it is to make her have a mage sister to "justify" her prejudice in the narrative? I really hate that, bc I think that the intention was to make her cruelty "come from somewhere" and I really hate how mages are scapegoated in this narrative for a the whole "grey morality" nonsense. No sometimes bigots are bigots just because, and they don't have to have a family member of the oppressed group they hate to justify their violence.

Also like I know what they were going for but they did not succeed because instead of it reading like this tragic example of why templars are needed, it’s Meredith looking at a corrupt and abusive system and deciding it’s her sister’s fault for being too weak for it

@whichwitchery : right? this is a thing that bugs me sooo much as well. like my first quizzie who romanced him did all the stuff he didn’t like. like all of it. but you could still romance him which is kinda fucked up even if we’re not looking at the big picture here. (rivalmance 2.0 if you want. I will never get why they thought this was a good idea...) but still if you talk to him personally? you can’t disagree with him. you can’t tell him to fuck off and leave you alone. I mean I can at least punch solas’ entitled ass but nope, nothing for our precious darling boy who is just soooo misunderstood and a good person now uwu yeah right -.- (seriously if he had actually shown SOME kind of remorse I would’ve maybe be able to see past all the shit but he doesn’t) I feel like they made him leave the templars just so they could pretend he changed. but does he speak out against the templars? no. he wants you to choose them of course because all mages are evil. seriously if they’re going to put him in the next game I will freaking lose my shit.

@danteh-ow: yeah and I completely get that! I mean he is not a templar anymore so he can’t be that bad and they just put all the Alistair romance stuff into his romance (like cute, dorky, a bit shy but very sweet) and it just works especially for people who don’t know the other games (I actually have a friend who had the exact same experience as you) and I even get if people who first played Inquisition and romanced him, then played the other games but still love Cullen. because you’re practically being forced to overlook all of his bullshit and you tend to do that with characters you liked at first. that’s just normal. (especially if you’re not like suuuper invested in the mage/templar debate or anything)

Since you are the scholar of all things Spiderman, do you know what subjects spidey and college friends majored in? And if mot stated in canon, what do you think they majored as?

Sure! You can mostly puzzle out what everyone did, even in the cases where it’s not directly stated, because college-era Spider-Man is less about pursuing education and more about Peter and his beautiful friends (and Harry) hooking up in various combinations.

Unless otherwise mentioned, everyone attended the fictional Empire State University. 

Peter: Peter attended college on a science scholarship. His specific major is never really made a big deal of, but there’s this bit from Spectacular Spider-Man #36 which identifies it as biophysics:

Peter attended and later dropped out of grad school, which caused a huge rift between him and Aunt May. He returned a number of years later… only to drop out again. He does technically have a doctorate, but it was obtained in his name by Otto Octavius during Superior Spider-Man.

Gwen: Also a science major! I have no idea if it’s ever narrowed down a little more than that. 

Both Gwen and Peter took classes under Professor Miles Warren, professor of biochemistry, which is notable because Miles Warren would later go on to create clones of Gwen and Peter. So many clones. Just….. so many clones. 

Mary Jane: MJ’s sometimes cited as a year younger than the rest of the group, and her introduction to the college fivesome isn’t through ESU but through her acquaintance with Peter. It would make sense for her, at this time, to be taking drama classes.

She dropped out and ended up pursuing modeling as a full time career. After the loss of their baby, she and Peter both returned to ESU, him as a grad student and her as an undergrad. Her major was psychology.

She later dropped out of ESU again when new modeling opportunities came up and she admitted to herself that that was where her true passions were.

Harry: If Harry’s major was ever mentioned, I…….. did not save any mention it. We see him in science classes with Gwen and Peter, but given he’s the heir to Oscorp, it would also make sense for him to be a business major. 

Anyway I do know that he once started a fight at a frat party and Peter, of course, jumped in.

Flash: Flash, like Peter, attended ESU on a scholarship – his was an athletic one. (Notably college is when Flash and Peter start to become friends through their mutual friendships with Gwen.) He then went onto enlist in Adjust Your Sliding Timescale For Appropriate War (Vietnam, originally).

I thought Flash had later graduated, but I’ve been following @bipeteparker‘s Spider-Man read tweets and this panel came up, so perhaps not:

Top 5 video game crushes!

fun question!! :D :D :D here they are in no particular order:

1) Phoenix Wright aka Nick aka Human Disaster (Ace Attorney): he helps people no one else believes in and is also a huge dork. therefore, i love him. he’d probably also make me chicken noodle soup when i’m sick.

2) Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island): he’s also a huge dork (see phoenix wright above) and just wants to be a pirate. is also pretty smart??? and witty. the undead pirate arch enemy might be a problem though.

3) SYMMETRAAAAA (Overwatch): she sits on a stool and watches as she obliterates the enemy with her turrets. TOO COOL. TOO SUAVE. also she’s the prettiest girl in the game YOU CAN FIGHT ME ON THIS.

4) Maya Fey (Ace Attorney): we’d eat hamburgers together and stuff. that would be fun. but i think she’s taken by @i-am-a-panda so...

5) Glasses Character: so like... i play visual novels sometimes and i ALWAYS try to get the glasses character ending first. because i’m all about those glasses...
