I think the theatre is going to become a psychopomp for the Rungjani
If I'm understanding everything correctly, the paint contains the blood/souls of the Rungjani (aka the orcs) that are trapped in Azgra's blood (aka the endless River Gavzidra). Tsul'rekshi managed to break the curse the traps them but they aren't free yet.
My theory is that the souls physically cannot leave. Beyond the metaphorical freshly broken jailer's cell, I think there is nothing. Literal nothingness. No path to take. No way to leave. So they have no choice but to stay.
Tsul'rekshi explained that you cannot unmake what is endless, all you can do is give it a new form (4x27). I know that this was referring to turning the blood into paint but I think it also applies to freeing the souls.
I think the play is going to create a path for the souls.
Furthermore, I believe that the tree at The Hallowed Round will be where the souls go. Hal said that the tree is the Rungjani; he described it as being eternal and as old as history (4x24). Additionally, Uli explained that despite art being originally designed to soothe Azgra's wrath, it was always for the orcs (4x03). Honestly, I don't have any evidence for this part, I just think it would be beautifully poetic.

Is this what an aneurysm feels like???
.
it’s not the plot points that bother me. it’s that they actively throw away character development and consistency to hit them just so they can try and throw off viewers.
