I was in a study hall the other day overhearing these boys (and one girl) say how young white men are the most oppressed group, that they don't get to say sh*t and that no one cares about their opinions.
I sat there thinking, "We just wrapped up Homecoming week... a thing that is celebrated by highschools across America. A celebration that is centered around the act of cheering for a football team. A team that all of these boys are a part of. Recently, these guys were talking about what songs they would recommend be played before the game. They were asked by the principal what theme they wanted for the dance. They were asked to vote for homecoming king and queen. What else must the adults around you do before you feel respected and appreciated?"
Seriously, those teenagers were denying their own personal reality to parrot talking points from social media.
