the tank wasn’t big, but it was bigger then the tank the people who had sold him kept him in and bigger then the one used to transport him. On top of that the water in this one moved, was filled with oxygen unlike in the other tanks that almost suffocated him.
He was the first of his kind ever caught by a human, one of a kind and rare. He’d sold for a lot, though how much he didn’t understand or care. The human’s paper and how much it meant to be exchanged for things was something he didn’t care about.
Small circles is what he swam in inside the tank he was now being forced to call home. Trapped, sold off and now put on display like some common goldfish. All of this would of been bad enough however he’d found himself poked with sharp objects to draw blood as well as several other ‘samples’ as these white coated people seemed to call them.He was passing the front of the tank again when he caught sight of one of the people, one who seemed to be higher ranking then the others. He stopped, a glare in his gaze as he stared at him. As the words left the man’s mouth the merman slammed his tail against the tank with a loud thud.
How dare this man treat him like some shiny shell, not to mention how dead wrong he was. He wasn’t beautiful, of his people he was considered one of the mos unattractive. His colors were dull, white and black, then there was the huge scar covering almost half his body from a human ship that had exploded. If a human considered him to be beautiful humans were the stranger then he thought.
