Where are the White Panthers?
Given the current climate of racial violence and civil right violations, I call on all us white people to bright back the White Panther party.
They were started when a group of well meaning civil rights supporting white people approached the Black Panthers in the 1960s and asked what they could do to help. Huey P. Newton, the co- founded of the Black Panthers, answered that they could found a White Panthers party, which is exactly what happened.
Alas now defunct, the party was rabidly anti-racist and furiously pro-civil rights. They were also in favour of drugs, abolishing capitalism, and sex in the streets. Despite this, they did manage to fight rulings banning marijuana and fought against warrentless wiretapping in the 1970s.
In short, I believe we should restart the White Panther Party. I can’t think of a better time to fight for racial solidarity and smashing capitalism, although I think we could downgrade sex in the streets to having properly provided for sex areas in all major city centers.

There were only two White Panthers and Mick Farren was the leader. I went round to his flat one day and Mick was always telling me about all this 'property is theft' stuff. He had some Gene Vincent LPs that I was rather keen to own, so I said, 'I don't feel as strongly about it as you do, but I'll take these Gene Vincent LPs,' but it turned out that property was theft except for Gene Vincent LPs.
