"Seeing, Hearing, Feeling"

I was walking through a snowy forest, looking up at the Northern Lights. Everything was quiet and still. Suddenly I saw a white owl sitting on a branch ahead of me. I felt fear, but it was mixed with awe at its beauty.

I looked down when I noticed a circle of light surrounding me. It began as a light blue and slowly deepened into a rich purple. As the colors shifted, everything around me changed. The snowy forest faded into a white haze, and then it became spring. The land turned green. I could hear animals moving, water flowing, and life returning.

I looked up and saw the owl again. This time it was brown, and behind it was the Chippewa Flowage. The day was bright and clear. I hesitated to move forward and placed an intention into my heart. A message came. The owl said, “Wisdom.” At first I thought it was speaking of itself, but then another message followed. “Observe. See. Hear. Feel.” The words repeated gently.

I walked closer and held out my arm for the owl to land on, but it did not. Instead, it dropped a feather. I looked down at it but did not pick it up. The owl then reached out and placed something directly into my hand. It was a solid white stone, like a moonstone, shimmering on its upper right side. As I watched, brown roots began growing inside it until the white was almost hidden.

I placed the stone into my heart. I felt the roots spread through my body as I slowly stepped backward, away from the owl. I could still see it long enough to say thank you, and I pictured myself carrying wisdom as it does. The owl then flew away, joined by many other owls crossing over the Chippewa Flowage until they disappeared.

The purple ring surrounded me again, and the forest shifted back into the snowy landscape where I had begun. This time, even in winter, I could hear more life. Then I returned from the meditation.

Meaning of the Vision

This vision was about embodied wisdom.

The owl did not ask me to follow it or imitate it. It asked me to observe. Wisdom was not given as instruction, but as a way of being. The transition from winter to spring showed that awareness leads to renewal. The owl changing from white to brown showed wisdom moving from insight into lived experience.

The stone placed into my hand represented truth offered directly. When roots grew inside it, the message became clear. Wisdom is not meant to stay abstract. It must root into the body, choices, and daily life. Placing it into my heart sealed that understanding.

The owl flying away with others showed that wisdom is shared, not solitary. Returning to winter with more life present showed that even in stillness, growth continues.

This vision teaches that wisdom is not about knowing more. It is about seeing clearly, hearing deeply, feeling fully, and allowing what is learned to take root.
