white-gold or blue-black???

so this whole gold-white / blue-black dress thing was really going on today at work, with emails flying around and I generally kept out of it till one particular snidey person was trying to point score by making someone else feel bad. so I stuck up for that picked on person especially as I thought they were right and my colour perception is usually bang on the mark . I agreed with them and just like that, there was a them and us situation. There were insinuations of lesser judgment skills , colour blindness and sarcastic comments trying to get a rise out of people who quietly stuck to their guns.. it was shocking how nasty it was getting ..... best part was when the news announced that the belief held by the crowd who had been the most obnoxious all day was incorrect and they were likely to have poor sight in dim lighting and were to some degree colour blind. that feeling of being quietly smug and vindicated hasn't yet left me.
