Talia is uncertain where this whole ordeal came from. Perhaps the need for warmth in a place that was never warm enough is messing with her brain. Sure, there have always been the want to kiss someone, yet she has never acted upon it until now. Yet, it is the wrong person. Is she not enough? Has she ever been. Still, she does not pull away from his touch, almost frozen in place.
“I... I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” It takes him moving away for Talia to be able to do something as simple as turn her head to observe his figure become smaller and smaller. Her own clothed fingertips traces her bottom lip, sighing hopelessly. She hopes this will not cause a strain between the two.

“You don’t belong here,” she said solidly. “Neither of us do. You’ve served your time here, and I’ve served mine elsewhere. We have a responsibility to take Winterfell back, now.” She had been prepared for Jon’s refusal, and equally prepared not to accept it. They belonged in Winterfell. There was nowhere else for them that could ever be home, nowhere else that needed their presence as much as they needed to be there.

Hearing what he has just called her, Ygritte laughs. “I’m not a lady, Jon Snow,” she says. As for being his, she has no idea about that. She used to be his and he used to be hers, but then he left, he became Lord Commander, he was murdered and now he is back again as if nothing had happened. She is happy to see him again, but still unsure how to deal with this situation. And there are more important things to talk about: winter is here, and something way worse than snowstorms and cold winds is coming towards the Southern Lands.
“But they are your people,” Ygritte points out. “If you don’t dare to speak to them, who would?”

“i have been wielding a sword since i came out of the womb. yes, it’s true my father sheltered me because of his paranoia, but he also wished me to know how to protect myself. i had the finest training the seven kingdoms could afford. i know how to swing a sword, bastard of winterfell.” viserys spat, looking over the stark boy who acted like he was better than the dragon king. “i understand where you stand, i simply came to look at the wall and see how many men i would need to send your way when i am crowned.”

Gloved hands claim another pair, squeezing them gently in reassurance.
“You don’t seem to understand. They don’t fight for you because they do not want to fight for themselves. They fight for you because they believe in you. They fight for you because they know with you leading them, they will be confident enough to fight for themselves when and if the time comes. Talk can only do so much until it is proven otherwise. If there is talk, there is talk. But you know better. Your brothers are alive because of you, they will continue to fight for what they believe in because of you. That is why they chose you to lead them. You are who they wish they could be, Jon.”

“You are not a monster,” she reinstates, “you are a leader.” She will not let him believe this. His entire life, he has been passed off as nothing. Now, he is something, and he breaks himself down to nothing once more. Never again. Talia will do all it takes to make Jon realize how important he is to people. “People looked to you and fought for you, they still look to you, and yes, they died for you. But people looked to your brother, Robb, and fought for him and died for him -- one of those people being my father. But does that make Robb a monster? No, he was a leader. He would only be a monster if he was the one that lunged the sword into my father’s chest.” Her footsteps echo through the hall as she travels closer towards Jon. “There is no difference. People believe in you like they believed in Robb, and people are willing to do a lot for those they believe in. That doesn’t make you a monster.”
