HEY! Good to see you
Hey! I’ve missed you!!
"Pepper, I think we need to talk?" Ian signed to his long-term girlfriend over Skye, what time do you get off tonight?"
“Around 5, but I can leave early if you want me to.” She looked concerned. “Is everything okay?”

@whitehairednative ♡ the starter call
He almost jumped from his chair when he felt someone tapped his shoulder. Turning around, Steve found a familiar face and smiled. “Hi, Ian. Leave my hearing aid at home, sorry I didn’t hear you coming,” he started sign, looking a bit apologetic. “Anything I can help you with?”
“So what’s your mutation?” Ian wrote on the paper

Sooyeon had never been particularly open about her mutations, and even now there was a moment in which she hesitated. But, ultimately, she took a pen from her purse and leaned over to write her answer on the piece of paper, “Ice and water manipulation and enhanced strength. What’s yours?”

The Soldier looked out impassively over the group of children his handlers had presented him with. He had been told he was to train them. He hadn’t really been instructed on how, though. They were, according to his handlers, “mutants.” Humans with naturally occurring superhuman abilities.
From what he had been told, there were two telekinetics, a pyrokinetic, a shape shifter, a teleporter, and a boy who could run faster than even a supersoldier. He had no idea how he was expected to train a group with such diverse abilities. But he knew he had to figure it out, unless he wanted to risk his handlers’ wrath. And that was not something he was willing to risk, not for a failure of this magnitude.
He wasn’t sure, either, if he was permitted to damage them. The Red Room hadn’t much cared. At times they had even encouraged it. So, knowing that they would probably be able to defend themselves, he took out one of his daggers and threw it at the nearest one.
whitehairednative asked ““Sorry, were you sleeping?””
Kay felt her phone vibrate and checked it. Her brightness was on a bit too high so she squinted at it at first. No, I may or may not have been reading a book >.> Everything okay? She sent the text and turned off her book light before emerging from beneath her blanket. it seemed as though her roommate was sleeping soundly and none the wiser.
Ian unlocked the screen door then the front door and yawned. There was no smell of coffee which meant there was no farmer Barton up with the damn sun. The white haired man sighed and moved to the kitchen, bags trailing behind him and setting on the counter gently. The sink was empty thankfully but the dishwasher was full. So the first tackle was to get breakfast started at half past 9, get Pete and Clint up and get chores done before lunch. Ian started on breakfast and hoped Clint would get Pete
Clint’s alarm had gone off a half hour ago and was still vibrating from where he’d shoved it under his pillow. He’d put his hearing aids in with the intent of actually hauling his sad, sorry ass out of bed, but that had been unsuccessful. But he knew he had to get up and take care of Peter before-
“Daddy!” came the screech as soon as Clint heard his bedroom door open. It was barely a second later that a small body barrelled into the side of his bed, quickly clamouring up to join him under his heavy quilt. “Daddy!” squealed Peter, pressing his face against Clint’s to make sure he was awake.
“Yep, yep, I’m up, bud, I’m up,” Clint groaned, reaching a tired arm to ruffle Peter’s hair while also pushing him away to give Clint some more space to stretch and get himself out of bed. “You wanna get breakfast?” he asked, picking his son up and holding the kid on his hip for a moment. Downstairs, he could pick up a few little noises– Ian was probably here. “I think we’ve got company, so let’s, uh, let’s head on down,” he said, carrying Pete down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Peter laughed the whole way and pleaded to be put down as soon as they’d reached the bottom step so he could run and hug Ian’s leg. And it was a sight that Clint enjoyed, seeing Peter with such strong bonds this early in life– it was something he didn’t have himself when he was young.
Morning, he signed to Ian with a tired smile.
