Here’s my issue with #blackoutday.
It was created by people that felt the need to limit the fact that they should feel beautiful for one day and one day only. You are beautiful/handsome everyday. While simultaneously dehumanizing and judging anyone that is white or does not have a color to their skin.
You can be beautiful for more than one day and you don’t have to make a silly tag to prove to people that you are. You don’t have to demean people that struggle with self image either and are white.
Yes, #whiteoutday, should not have been the same day as #blackoutday, but I don’t see why it is such a big problem. White people are allowed to have self image issues too. Its not like media has been painting the standard white human being picture through media until recently. Not every white person is a size two, with big boobs, and perfect blonde hair.
I realize that my opinion isn’t a popular one and most likely will aggravate multiple people, but this is how I feel. People that aren’t white are beautiful/handsome for more than one day, and so are white people.
I’m sorry if any term I used to refer to skin color offended you. White is Caucasian but its just easier to say white. And anyone one else that isn’t white, I don’t like the terms non-white or person of color. It makes it seem like that there’s white and then everything else and that I would be calling you colored and that just isn’t acceptable.
