What happened last week? 12/2/15
Only two more weeks in the semester, and that means only two more weeks of the Barnard Librarians being in Lehman Hall. But we’re making the most of those weeks with some events! So a bunch of our WHLW is past posts on future events.
Remember that time when Zine Librarian Jenna Freedman gave the Obamas a magical tour of the Zine Library?
Last week’s #ThesisThursday featured Clara Butler on women stand-up comedians.
Tonight at 7pm we’re talking about (and listening to) Beyonce in the library, as well as answering your citation questions. How much more fun could this get? There are hot bevs and snacks!
Communications Assistant Suze Meyers made a super sweet graphic for our final Lehman goodbye event, happening on 12/14
What happened last week? 11/25/15
We were closed much of last week, so not as much happened! We still have Research Grab & Go happening in the Diana Center from 11:30am-1pm every day this week, so stop by and tell us how your break was there (and get research help).
We looked back at a seasonally appropriate early American Barnard dance project from 1949
One week later, this hamster munching a carrot is still the cutest
Barnard’s own peer-reviewed undergraduate journal, On Our Terms, is looking for submissions!
Libby Stacks showed us a shelfie of new books we have on history of the Americas
And that’s the news from last week! Glad to see everyone back here.
What Happened Last Week? 11/18/15
What’s happening in the library today is a car alarm has been sporadically sounding outside our windows for the past few hours! But check out the cool stuff that happened last week at the Barnard Library.
We celebrated GIS day with the Barnard ERC (that’s Empirical reasoning center)
Finally reached the opening of Lehman Hall, now within weeks of its destruction.
#ThesisThursday got into the revolutionary spirit with BC senior Cristina Angeles looking at diversity and casting in Hamilton
We saw the second part of the Making Barnard History seminar series, this time on Virginia Gildersleeve
And fashion makes an appearance on Barnard Digital Archivist Martha’s Manis & Manuscripts series - check out how old that hat is!
What Happened Last Week? 11/11/15
Are you watching what’s going on in front of Lehman? They’re moving the magnolia tree today! One student depicted the process on Twitter.
We met the new Barnard Archives graduate fellows, Charlotte Kostelic and Amy Lau!
Our #tbt saw a shiny new Lehman Hall in 1958
#ThesisThursday contuing strong with Avery Schroeder and 18th-century French porcelain
Did you miss the shelfies? They’re back! We’re still in new books in history, but now on Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Martha’s Manis & Manuscripts gave us remarkable insight on library finances back in 1932
We started research grab & go at the Diana!
And we can’t resist one last shelfie of new books - especially on history of the Americas
