তিনি আসমানসমূহ, যমীন ও তাদের অন্তর্বর্তী যা কিছু আছে, সে সবের রব। কাজেই তারই ইবাদাত করুন এবং তার ইবাদাতে ধৈর্যশীল থাকুন। আপনি কি তাঁর সমনামগুণসম্পন্ন কাউকেও জানেন? আল কোরআন, সূরাঃ মারইয়াম, আয়াতঃ ৬৫।

এ স্থলে سَمِيًّا শব্দের অর্থ অনুরূপ সদৃশ বর্ণিত রয়েছে। এর উদ্দেশ্য এই যে, নাম ও গুণাবলীতে আল্লাহ তা'আলার সমতুল্য, সমকক্ষ কেউ নেই। [ইবন কাসীর] অর্থাৎ তিনি হচ্ছেন আল্লাহ, তোমাদের জানা মতে দ্বিতীয় কোন আল্লাহ আছে কি? যদি না থাকে এবং তোমরা জানো যে নেই, তাহলে তোমাদের জন্য তাঁরই বন্দেগী করা এবং তাঁরই হুকুমের দাস হয়ে থাকা ছাড়া অন্য কোন পথ থাকে কি? তোমরা তাঁর জন্য নির্দিষ্ট কোন নাম ও গুণ অন্যকে দিও না। সৃষ্টিজগতের কোন নাম-গুণও তাঁর জন্য সাব্যস্ত করো না। সুন্দর সুন্দর নাম ও গুণগুলো তো তারই জন্য। তিনিই এসব গুণে গুণান্বিত হওয়ার বেশী হকদার। যাদের কোন গুণ নেই, কাজ নেই, যাদের নামের বাস্তবতাও নেই তারা নিজেরাও অস্তিত্বহীন হওয়াটাই বেশী যুক্তিযুক্ত। [ইবনুল কাইয়্যেম, আসসাওয়ায়িকুল মুরসালাহ: ৩/১০২৮]
