The sheer big of Jurassic titanosaurs I'll never get over. I had to to an essay on them for my palaeo degree in first year and I still can't wrap my head around just How Big they are.
GREAT NEWS- giant dinosaurs weren’t just a Jurassic thing! the Jurassic did host the diplodocids and their relatives, giant sauropods built like someone had just grabbed their heads and necks and just streeeetched.

the most famous of these, appropriately, is diplodocus! (but brontosaurus and apatosaurus were ALSO diplodocids!)
however, these behemoths were NOTHING compared to the absolute monsters that came next: the titanosaurs of the Cretaceous! (they were also around in the Jurassic, but not as big yet)
titanosaurs were a group of sauropods that were similar to diplodocids in length, but where diplodocids were stretched-out and mostly horizontal, titanosaurs were tall and INCREDIBLY bulky. many of them even had spikes and armored plates!
and the biggest of these giants were still rockin’ in the new world right up to the KPG extinction, from Puertosaurus in South America to Alamosaurus in North America!
and guess what, our friend Argentinosaurus was one of these. giant dinosaurs saw it out all the way till the end!
