"Aslan," Kleitos called. Aslan cautiously stepped out, and looked back and forth. A man was standing there, dirty and disheveled with a wide grin. An innocent grin, like a child who found chocolate. Aslan carefully came forward to Kleitos and looked up at the king.
"Aslan, meet Niven, our little saint. A traveller who happened to kill the most wanted criminal in our kingdom." Aslan's teeth gritted as his chest tightened. This was the person that killed his brother, this was the person that ruined his chances of ever getting out. Aslan nodded slightly, trying to keep his hands to his side, his chains had just been removed from him and he was not eager to try to get then back on.
"Well, say hello." Aslan swallowed the heavy lump in his throat. He didn't want beatings. He didn't want beatings. He really didn't want beatings.
"Hello, sir," Aslan said as kindly as he could manage.
"Hi there!" chirped the traveller. Aslan cringed at his happiness but recovered quickly. A familiar hand suddenly fell on his shoulder, making Aslan flinch.
"Aslan here is my pet," his hand reached up and pet Aslan's head, making the hairs on Aslan's body rise. "What do you think?"
"Pretty," the traveller, Niven, said.
"I've trained him quite well." Niven nodded. "Say, would you like to kiss him?" Aslan took a sharp breath. He refused- refused to kiss the man that killed his brother.
"You should!" Kleitos boomed in a laugh. "Watch, I will!" Aslan closed his eyes, feeling the harsh lips of Kleitos' on his. Aslan stopped inhaling, not wanting to breathe in Kleitos' sausage smelling breath. Kleitos pulled away, a prideful smile on his face.
"Well go on!" Kleitos boomed again. Niven's smile wavered and his eyes flickered to Aslan as if to apologize.
"Can I, uh- wipe his lips?" Nicen asked. Kleitos laughed again.
"Do whatever you want!" Niven nodded and stepped close to Aslan. Aslan took a deep breath, and tried to calm himself. It's just a kiss, he told himself. This man didn't know who he killed, he tried to convince himself. Niven raised a hand, softly swiping his fingers across Aslan's lips. Aslan swallowed his anger and tried to compose himself at the touch. Kleitos never touched him so softly, unless he was about to hurt him. But he could tell that this touch was different- though, that didn't make it any less pleasant.
"So, um, this obviously isn't your first kiss," Niven said quietly. Aslan grinded his teeth together. "Sorry, I'll just-" Niven swooped in, and the moment Aslan saw Niven coming, he couldn't control himself anymore.
"No!" he shouted, shoving Niven. Niven stumbled back, eyes wide.
"Sorry- sorry," Niven apologized.
"You killed my brother!" Aslan screamed, shoving Niven again. Kleitos began to storm close. "You killed him!"
"Don't alologize!" Kleitos ordered, grabbing Aslan by the shoulders. "I'll have him punished immediately. Don't you move."
"Wait-don't- it's okay-" Niven said as he reached out.
"You killed him!" Aslan continued to scream as Kleitos pulled him back.
"Shut up!" Kleitos' voice angrily boomed. "Shut up you little bitch!"
"You killed him!" Aslan screamed, tears streaming fine his face. "He's dead because of you!"
Niven stared in horror as Kleitos threw his hand down upon Aslan's face, landing a full fist to the jaw. Aslan's head whipped to the side as he gasped. Kleitos landed another fist into Aslan's stomach, knocking the air out of him, and then a final blow to the head knocked Aslan out.
"Guards!" Kleitos called, dropping Aslan to the ground. "Take this little gypsy to the dungeon, give him your best," he ordered to the rapidly approaching men. They picked Aslan's body up and dragged it down the hall. Kleitos cleared his throat and turned back to Niven, whereas frozen in terror at the sight before him.
"I'm so terribly sorry about that."
"Are you going to hurt hi-"
"Please, join me for dinner," Kleitos said, smiling once more.
"I insist." Niven's jaw became tight, as suddenly he began to see the kind of King he had stumbled upon. And now, his new goal: rescue the gypsy.
Sorry for any typos, this just kinda came to me so I hurriedly wrote it down. Hope you like it!
