trying to remember what my first impressions of the furiosa movie are before i am clouded by analysis and takes

anya taylor joy did do a good job but i kept just comparing her to charlize theron in my head. my biggest gripe is that her build is smaller/slighter so she reads like a teenager compared to full grown fury road furiosa. which is fine for the entirety of the movie but that shot at the end of the escape suddenly anchored us in a specific time relative to fury road. when she needs another 5-10 years to really fill out. and to get good and mad at immortal joe specifically now that dementus is dead.

some real good classic action scenes in here. love a good war rig sequence. gliders coming in to up the ante.

dementus was fascinating, i think he's growing on me after the fact.

the scarification on the war boys is new, which is funny since it's a prequel. it makes a ton of sense as a thing people would do as decoration in that context but funny that iirc it must have disappeared.

love seeing gastown and the bullet farm.
