They sit in a room
All alone
Surround by family
The problem isn't who
It's more of a what
The person is hurt
No one can see
The person smiles
Plays right along
Inside is empty
All turned to ash
They want to talk
Pushed all away
Now they sit all alone
Surrounded by family
One is too young
One is really trying
What can I do
But be alone with you

Good Night~!
Here follows the full text of the Argument Against Referendum Measure 74, a state referendum to approve the legislature's Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 6239 to replace our present civil unions system with full marriages for gay and lesbian couples, as printed in the State of Washington Voters' Pamphlet. Prepared by: Joseph Backholm, President Preserve Marriage Washington; Joe Fuiten, Senior Pastor Cedar Park Church; Matt Shea, State Representative, District 4. Argument Against Referendum Measure 74
Marriage is more than a commitment between two loving people. It was created to benefit the next generation. Traditional marriage promotes child well-being because kids need both a mother and a father. Extensive social science shows that children do better when raised by their married parents.
The new marriage law passed by legislators did not enact same-sex marriage -- it redefined marriage for all, stripping it of its essential man/woman nature and tossing common-sense out the window. Women can now be "husbands" and men can be "wives".
Our "Everything But Marriage" Law Already Provides Gays Full Legal Equality
Washington same-sex couples already enjoy full legal equality. The new marriage legislation did not provide new substantive legal rights for gay couples.
Redefining marriage has consequences.
God's creation of marriage as the union of one man and one woman is the foundation of society and has served us well for thousands of years. People who disagree with this new definition could find themselves facing sanctions, as has occurred elsewhere. Church groups have lost these their tax exemptions. Small businesses were sued. Wedding professionals have been fined. Charities opposing gay marriage were forced to end services. Young children were taught about gay marriage in public school.
Gays and lesbians are entitled to respect and to live as they choose, but they don't have a right to redefine marriage. Being opposed to same-sex marriage doesn't mean you dislike gays and lesbians. It means you support traditional mrriage. Please reject R-74 to reject redefining marriage.
shit's hilarious.
The last poll I heard about gave this a slight edge in approval, like 53% or so. I really hope it passes.
I've been avoiding posting this
But I can't keep this inside anymore. I literally can't go anywhere or do anything without being reminded of him. In the shower, Rich Girl comes on. I wake up cuddling his Redskins blanket. I'm out at breakfast and the bacon on the table brings me back to those mornings when we'd make breakfast together. The taste of pineapple reminds me of that day at the hospital when we laughed at the pain in our mouths. There's nothing I do that doesn't bring me back. People keep telling me that this remembering will go away eventually but I'm not sure if I really want it to. All these things made me so happy. I'm having an internal fight with myself. I want to talk to him more than anything but at the same time, I really want to prove to him that I'm strong enough to give him his space. If he's the one to contact me first, I'll feel like I'm still wanted in some way. I just don't want to never talk to him and make him think I don't want to or that I'm mad at him. I'm not mad at all. He shouldn't be apologizing for wanting to focus on himself. My mom keeps giving me all of this advice and it helps but it's all reflecting off of my parents relationship. She told me they went through this. They broke up multiple times but eventually always found their way back to each other. I can't hope for this because my relationship is not theirs, but there's always that spark of faith that it will happen. I'm not sure if he's going to read this, but if he does then I won't have to explain this all to him and sound crazy. Fuck.
