          lou sipped at her beer, her brain buzzing. everything was strange. she and archer had blown up nearly three months ago, and this was her first time back at the garage. mostly to see roxy perform and meet her girlfriend. oh right - and to introduce roxy to her new boyfriend, elijah. nerves crept up in her stomach again. so far, archer had been good. sarcastic, throwing back handed compliments and thinly veiled innuendos at them. basically himself. they’d exchanged a few words, smiled, laughed, before he’d taken off to prepare for the second half of their set. roxy had been the weirdest, seeming almost apologetic as she walked away. her stomach knotted as she made her way back to elijah, beaming up at him as she weaved her fingers between his. tempy had been right - he was a really nice guy. there were lots of super romantic grand gestures, even though they’d only been dating for two weeks, but it was sweet! her mom loved him. chugging the rest of her bottle, she squeezed elijah’s hand as archer and the gang took the stage.

    “ Holding a jacket ransom. Well well well, who’s the villain kid now ? ” with a small tut, Archer furrowed his brows at Lou. He shook his head to add to the facade, but it was clear to both of them that the aggressive act wouldn’t last long. Not when he wasn’t actually unhappy with her ( not in the slightest ). The only reason he had to put on such a show was simple — where was the fun in making it easy ? “ I’ll fight you for it. ” as if he even wanted it back.

           pulling the jacket around herself tighter, she raised her eyebrows, an unspoken challenge to archer. they were both quick, so maybe he would catch her. maybe she’d let him.
