I hate wigs I've decided lmfao.

The glue, the unruly hair, AH.

But I have finally made a good cast of my head for the wig, and have gotten around to cutting off and making wefts.

No one tells you how to make good wefts. Everyone hacks huge chunks of hair off in their videos and never shows how to turn them into good wefts.

I have taken to using Bobby pins to keep the hair nice and neat!

Really excited to get all the hair off that needs to come off so I can get the helmet part started. Also nervous. Will update as I go!

I received my order from @lawrichai I’m so impressed with the colours that I can’t do justice to them inside with my phone camera. I’m going to have take the wefts outside tomorrow and photograph them. The fibers are so soft and silky. The dye is so well done and it will give a realistic touch to the wig. The wefts came in awesome drawstring bags, each weft in a plastic bag with all the info written on it so you can reorder. The care manual is an adorable little book that can be used as a prop for your dolls. I forgot to add a picture. Sorry. @lawrichai took the time to answer all of my questions and even took pictures of the colours together so I could make a finale decision on my purchase. Here's the tutorial I used to make the wefts. I found the hairs got caught up in my machine if I went too fast, also I was using a twin needle which has always been temperamental in my experience. I switched to a single needle for the second weft, and used some paper underneath to keep the hairs away from the inner workings of my machine and it worked a lot better than the first time. The paper tears away super easily once you're done sewing!

I also found that since I was using synthetic hairs, they didn't really stick to the tape well at all. The paper beneath the wefts while sewing helped on that front too. There is water soluble fabric you can get for such applications, which I think I'd want to get for the next time I need to do this.
