I heard Nintendo is going to explore making games with shorter development cycles to counter rising development costs.
Seriously though, I miss this. Cheaper games made to be as made along side big hits, sometimes experimental, sometimes just upgraded puzzle games this was a beast of it's own.
First art of 2022! Hayley from My Pokemon Ranch for the #obscurepokeart tag over on Twitter! I still have this on my old Wii, but I never did get that Mew...
Wish there was a way to play this in 2020...besides emulation 😒
Time is almost up for the Nintendo Wii Shop & WiiWare!
Following the Xbox 360 Indie shutdown, which saw many games fail to be archived. Even sites like the Internet Archive appeared to do little to help prevent this loss, right now it’s almost impossible to even find a full list of games released on the service 3398 were listed when the shutdown occurred. However many titles had been removed from the service before it closed, the indie version of Dark Reign is one such example on Xbox indie.
Now in 10 days time it’s the beginning of the end for the Nintendo Wii shop: https://www.nintendo.co.uk/News/2017/September/Important-information-about-the-closure-of-the-Wii-Shop-Channel-1285994.html
After Monday 26th March 2018 at 21:00 UK time, you will no longer be able to buy Wii points. When this happens you will only be able to spend your remaining balance. Pretty much putting an end to the Wii Shop, it will fully close on Thursday, 31st January 2019 at 06:00 UK time.
Over the past few years numerous games have already been delisted from the Wii Shop. If there are any WiiWare games you want, now is the last chance you have to pick them up. Here are a few WiiWare titles we at Randomised Gaming recommend picking up are:
Alien Crush Returns (Pinball, Devil Crush series)
Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth
Contra ReBirth
Excitebike: World Rally (Some online features are no longer available)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (DLC heavy, quite pricey to see everything the game has to offer)
Gradius ReBirth
LostWinds & LostWinds 2: Winter of the Melodias
Onslaught / Madsecta (Japanese name)
We highly suggest picking up any titles you want this weekend, don’t leave it to the last minute.

I had Mr.Driller W as a kid and played the crap out of it thinking there was an ending to the game. turns out it was just a score attack game.....
Full playthrough / longplay / trueplay of the Caravan 5 Minute Mode. Star Soldier R is an arcade style shooter, just like all the other games in the series. This one is a caravan game which means it's a time attack shooter, Star Soldier R only features two levels, but the aim is to try and continue to improve your score. While it might not be for everyone the two levels you do get, put a lot of more expensive shooters to shame. The one more go factor really will grab a lot of players. The game offers a 2 & 5 minute mode time attacks and also includes a button press challenge in quick shot, how many shots per second can you achieve?
Star Soldier first appeared on the Famicom / Nes and the MSX, since then it has had outings on the PC Engine, Nintendo 64, Wii and many more systems. However the series is fairly unknown in Europe due to Hudson Software's failure to release Star Soldier games in PAL.
With the Wii Channel coming to an end in the near future and the ability to buy games ending next week we though it was time to cover some of the best games on the system. Buy them while you still can.
