Reintroduce Yourself
Hey there, I'm S. E. Ricks. Any pronoun will do. I've had this blog for 3.5 years (time flies!). I came back to tumblr to write as I am an elder and have been on tumblr since the beginning (deleted my original blog, started a new one in 2012 that I don't use, but unfortunately realized that I started this as a side instead of just restarting like I should have). Writing is my self care and I'm trying to be more confident in my writing. Confidence in my writing is not my strong suit, but it's a work in progress.
I like most whump tropes unless it's on my ick list. My icks are underage whumpees, amputation, and de-aging. I think that's it, but I'm always down to explore things until I hit an ick that I didn't even know I had.
A little about myself: I run my own business in a field that gives me a little insight into this community sometimes I think. I love being my own boss, but it does consume a lot of time lol. I am a huge animal lover and have six cats, two dogs, a pond full of fish, and 2 horses (my mare is a solid citizen at 6 and can pretty much do anything now and I am so proud of her and I picked up my colt about three months ago and he is my giant toddler. Love my bbs so much.) I struggle with some fairly serious chronic health conditions and am a bit of medical mystery for my treatment team (let me tell you that is not fun at all) and this year my health has taken a bit of a nose dive. It does impact my mental health because I simply just don't have the spoons. I am kinda a machine and will not let it impact my ability to work, but that comes at a cost in that I don't have the energy for anything else.
