Ok, I just watched the leaked clip & I can't tell if I'm just cramping or was that entire thing so nauseating that my stomach's turning. Help me out here: WTF did I just watch?

Awwwwwwwwwwhhhh! Nooo! No upset tummy for you! Go purge it out of your mind with some old episodes, have some tea, relax... and then just hope that the rest of the reboot isn’t as boring as that. :’D

Hang on. I get you're POed about them trying to bond mothers and daughters, but that can still be done with a greater focus on the Prof. I mean, isn't it possible to show that the lack of a mother can speak volumes for kids who have both or just one?

I’m not against the idea of moms and daughters bonding, and I’m 100% for what you’re saying. What I’m against is that by excluding men from the picture, they’re insinuating that the show is for females only. They’re saying that the show was originally made for little girls (lie) and that ladies who grew up with the show will pass it along to their daughters (not to their sons because clearly the show was never intended for both girls and boys :\). The quote was from an article that was describing how female-led shows are going to be the newest source of revenue for studios (which translated basically meant “we’re going to make a shitton of money off of shows that have female-led characters to make tons of money off of dumb girls and their dumb moms until the popularity dies down and the money goes away”).

If they keep pushing the product towards girls, that drives away the male audience (or maybe it won’t like it didn’t for MLP, which is kind of what I hope happens without all the creepiness that goes along with it). But completely excluding the male audience from the get-go is… ew. Why would you want to even do that? Just because it might be a good lesson for moms and daughters doesn’t mean that it should exclude half of the original audience. Boys won’t feel welcome and they’ll be less likely to watch and absorb the message. We have an epidemic of dads as it is IRL. Men should see that being a dad isn’t a bad thing or something “feminine” that they shouldn’t be a part of. In that respect, it’s harmful to put things in the girls and boys camps.

A Summary Update

GAH! I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry, PLEASE don’t kill me! >.<

This past weekend was FAR more hectic and took WAY more out of me than I expected, (Laundry, the MIA Animation Conference and Festival, meeting all kinds of Disney and Cartoon Network executives such as Conrad Montgomery of Cartoon Network a.k.a HE’S WHY WE HAVE ADVENTURE TIME, REGULAR SHOW, UNCLE GRANDPA AND STEVEN UNIVERSE TO BEGIN WITH!!!, etc.)  so right now I’m trying to play catch up with a metric butt ton of work including new projects that just landed on my desk (can’t say much about ‘em yet, but when I do you’ll see) as well as beginning the process of redesigning my Tumblr page to make it easier to navigate among all the chaos of reblogs.

I love doing the Steven Universe reviews that I do, so I want to make “A Summary” a regular thing. However, seeing as I’m starting in the middle of season 2 with over 75 episodes, I’m going to try and use the holiday hiatus as a chance to basically recap the entire series, starting with the pilot. This’ll be part of a secondary series called “A Retro Summary” where I can kinda backtrack on episodes of this and other series and delve further into detail like I do currently in “A Summary” with more current episodes. I’m also going to start incorporating my OWN gif sets so that I can provide more visuals and not have to depend solely on the fanbases and hope I find something good when I could just make it myself...but if I find something better, I will give all credit where due and provide direct mentions and tags whenever that’s the case. I don’t believe in plagiarism by any means, so no worries on that end. 

All and all, expect there to be a great deal more in the next coming weeks and my full “A Summary” on “Too Far” will be up sometime this week. Thanks for understanding and I’ll see you around the interwebs. Late.
