Take a look at Amazon and look for products tagged "Dr. Oz." The result: 29,404 products, primarily with marketing claims including "As Seen for the Dr. Oz Show" and "Endorsed By Dr. Oz." Reality check: Popular talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz neither endorses, produces nor recommends almost all of those products. The only ones truly related to Dr. Oz are his books, such as "YOU: Losing Weight: The Owner's Manual to Simple and Healthy Weight Loss" (click for details) and "YOU: The Owner's Manual, Updated and Expanded Edition: An Insider's Guide to the Body that Will Make You Healthier and Younger" (click to order). But it's unfortunately all to easy to get duped by supplement companies who use Dr. Oz's name to market their products. To help make it clear that he is not associated with such companies, Dr. Oz has established an Oz Watch, and repeatedly emphasizes on his talk show and Web site that they considers these lenders to become doing "reckless and dangerous" marketing practices.
