Like all proper adults, when my friends and I went out for breakfast we naturally grabbed a pack of wikistix and made little flower children from them

365 Day Journal- Day 15
What is your favorite piece of art you own?
My senior year of high school, I volunteered at a program called Christmas in the City, which was basically a huge christmas party for homeless families in Boston. It was such a rewarding experience, but that's for another post. On all the tables, there were those little colorful wax wikistix things for the kids to play with. At the end of the day, each of the kids at my table made me something out of them. A few candy canes, a couple flowers, and my name. I still have them on my wall. And they'd have to be my favorite over anything I ever made in like ceramics class or anything because they mean so much to me. Just the fact that these kids, who literally had nothing, cared about me so much after just one day that they were willing to give up something that they could have kept and taken with them to play with means so much to me.
