{ Day 12 - The Hanged Man / Dragon }

Emma definitely has the funniest opinions on her siblings’ partners and she never hesitates to voice them. She constantly reminds Rafe that Kate is out of his league. This doesn’t even have anything to do with the whole Dire Magnus thing: Emma simply adores and admires her big sister and believes she’s so great that no one is good enough for her. (That said she does respect her sister’s choice in spouses and all that, she just likes to mess with Rafe and remind him how lucky he is.)

Meanwhile, it’s the exact opposite with Wilamena. Emma regularly asks Wil if she’s sure Michael is the one she wants. “He’s an absolute know-it-all and he once got stuck in a tree,” she says. “You know you can do better, right? Like, a so much better.” Oh, don’t get her wrong, Emma’s glad Wilamena has her heart set on Michael (mostly because she gets to tease them both about it) she just can’t believe anyone - let alone an elf princess slash dragon - would have a crush on her loser brother.

Random things that I’ve decided happen at Kate and Rafe’s wedding in the happy timeline:

It’s a small wedding with maybe 40 guests (in contrast to the giant wedding with hundreds of people Michael and Wilamena end up having) and it takes place in Cambridge Falls

Granny Peet performs the ceremony because she’s amazing (and also I think if anyone is actually ordained to perform weddings it’s probably her)

Michael and Emma walk with Kate down the aisle because they’ve always been the cornerstone of her life

Abigail takes it upon herself to make sure Jake and Beetles can’t pull any practical jokes. She sits between them during the ceremony, ready to cover their mouths (or use a silencing spell on them) if they even think about joke-objecting or making any statements about shops. Her efforts are appreciated by everyone

Rafe tears up many, many times (Kate does too once or twice but is generally more composed)

Kate wears sandals she can run in under her dress, because one) she doesn’t like heels, and two) she wants to be prepared just in case some monsters attack or whatever. With her and Rafe’s luck you never know what will happen

There’s a picture of Henrietta Burke set up during the ceremony to honor her role in Rafe’s life

Kate dances with all of her family members (specifically her parents, her siblings, and Gabriel) at some point during the reception

Jake and Beetles are banned from making toasts on account of no one trusts them with that kind of power

Abigail does make a very nice toast though

Richard cries during his toast, and Clare and Gabriel both get teary eyed during theirs too

Wilamena goes all out with everything (her toast, her outfit, etc) even though she didn’t have to, because she’s nothing if not extra

Michael and Emma were allowed to make toasts so long as they didn’t do anything crazy. They, fortunately, obeyed that directive (mostly because Gabriel was side-eyeing them the whole time) though they did make a couple jokes at the expense of Rafe and also one another (Kate was just sighing in exasperation)

Kate wasn’t originally going to do the bouquet toss but her friends wanted it so she indulged them. Wilamena quite literally elbowed everyone out of the way so she could be the one to catch it

Rafe’s new siblings-in-law force him to dance with them and tease him the entire time

They don’t do the smushing cake into one another’s faces thing (it’s just not something they’d enjoy) but Emma definitely “offers” to smash cake into Michael’s face and Gabriel groans so loud the entire venue can hear

Kate’s bouquet is made out of lilies because they’re her favorite flower (source: I said so) and because this leads into the next generation verse starring my most beloved OC Lily Wibberly

Rafe changes his legal name to Rafe Wibberly
