Something Like Love Update
i've been going back and revising my Gadge fic Something Like Love. Hopefully, the changes I intend to make will justify the wait because i still get several PMs asking about it. I am flattered, but there are people so invested in the story, but I can't just scrape jelly from an empty jar. lol I promise it's not abandoned. It is only been like a couple of months. I love y'all but chill.
i've outlined the changes I wanna make to the current chapters. I just finished rewriting the first chapter. And I suppose this is the best time to put in my inspiration in references.
These are the medicinal flowers that I referenced:
Scarlet Bee Balm (Monarda didyma): Smells minty, thyme-like. It smells strong, spicy flavor like a mix of mint and oregano, with citrusy notes and a hint of berry. i It has antimicrobial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. The leaves can be used to make a relaxing herbal tea (Oswego tea) to help relieve gas, nausea, and cramps, and the plant's resin was traditionally used to soothe bee stings and other bug bites.
Black Eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta): Smells Sweet and spicy. Bitter and earthy flavor. It is brewed as a tea for colds, flu, fevers, and to stimulate immune systems. It's made into a poultice for snakebites, sores, and small wounds. The sap is used as drops for earaches.
Wild Phlox (Phlox divaricata): Smells sweet, floral, and often spicy-sweet scent, described as similar to lilacs. Tastes peppery. Also known as wild sweet william. It can be made into a poultice for eczema and boils.

I also referenced/took inspiration from the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire for District 8's tragedy. Apparently it was common practice to lock the doors to the exits to stop workers from taking breaks and stealing. Instead it led to the death of what was mostly women ages 14-24.
