Basalt is a bit like a lyrebird in that he can learn to imitate various sounds and noises after hearing them a few times. This includes; honking in various ways, making a squeaky toy noise, various warning klaxons, just to name a few. But his favourite is bird songs. If he hears a particularly pretty bird song, he’ll spend hours learning how to make it himself, partly ‘cause he likes it and partly so he can entertain others and himself later.

Umbran actually likes playing string instruments, since he can use his claws when he plays them. He took particular interest in dulcimers though when he discovered them as a Hunter, particularly mountain dulcimers. He did eventually own one, though he only ever played it in his room, so only a select few people knows he even played any instrument of any kind.
Sadly, he left his dulcimer back at HQ when he went maverick (he only grabbed a few small valuable things, and the dulcimer was too big and too fragile to take with him). At this point, he had no idea what the heck has happened to it, and he hasn’t played any instrument since he went maverick.
