Dick's role in Eclipso: The Darkness Within, a twenty issue event from the 90s, is relatively small but impactful. Over the course of a couple of issues, Dick teams up with Slade, Clark and other heroes to save the world. One of the biggest moments toward the end of the event is the heroes saving the people of a village living near the vulcano where the boss fight is happening.

To Dick, there's always a kid that needs to be picked up and held.

They are all coming together to save civilians! If that ain't the goal!

As Raven’s feelings for Dick grow bigger, the relationship between Dick and Kory starts getting serious.

This is also the Wildbeest’s first appearance, but to be honest, it seems like Raven is taking most of the “panel-time”. I think it’s OK, but it is clear that Raven is playing with feelings again (or at least, that is what it seems). Last time, with Wally, that didn’t go well, and she should know better.

The two issues drawn by Barreto look very good, especially Nightwing, whose costume is usually hit or miss with artists.

Now, if you have problems with the depiction of women in fiction, you may not like these issues. In the “Adam and Eve” episode, Eve’s greediness almost killed Adam. And then you have the very emotional Raven, declaring her love out loud, it makes you wonder she is even saying it.

But in the case of Raven I will give her the pass, because she deals with emotions all the time, it’s kind of her thing.
