Bestie! What is one of Firien's most embarrassing memories?
So the thing about Firien is that she's like a cat (heh) in that regard. If she does something that embarrasses her, she simply pretends it Did Not Happen and everyone else is nuts for thinking otherwise.
That said, she still tries really hard to avoid embarrassing herself or getting into embarrassing situations. Most of the time when she's embarrassed it's because she missed something entirely because she's a bit oblivious and just Never Noticed until it was pointed out to her (i.e. the fragments of Wuuthrad literally being Right There LMAO).
To answer the actual question, probably her tenth name day. It was a small celebration with just Meirien and Elerien and Meirien went to the lengths of getting her a special dress since it marked her first decade of life. It was of Breton make and green and blue with little pink flowers embroidered on the sleeve cuffs and collar, and it was the prettiest dress she'd ever seen. To celebrate, Meirien took Firien and Elerien out to forage for her name day supper. At one point, Firien got distracted by a wandering ocelot and decided to try and befriend it. Needless to say, the ocelot was not happy about this and tried to get away, but Firien (being a ten year old child with a natural knack for hunting) ignored her mother's warning and gave chase to it.
She followed the ocelot for quite some time, dodging under low hanging branches and jumping over fallen trees and boulders while trying to keep up with this dang cat when it suddenly took a turn that she wasn't expecting. She wasn't able to stop herself in time and tripped over her feet in the attempt and landed right in a murky and muddy pond. To add insult to injury, the ocelot jumped onto a nearby stump and gave her a "fuck with me" look before it started cleaning its coat, almost to rub it in. So Firien dragged herself out of the pond, humiliated, angry, and distraught at her ruined name day dress, and began her walk of shame back to her mom and sister. Who, naturally, laughed about it while trying to reassure her that it was okay and that she would grow out of the dress soon enough anyway. She still was not happy and maybe even cried a lil but who knows
Nowadays she's a lot more careful when she gets a new gown. Especially on her name day.
