My predictions based on the stills I’ve seen with the Diaz parents:

- Chris is the one who calls in his grandparents because he’s PISSED at Eddie when he realized it wasn’t actually his mom (and they spent more time with Shannon than Eddie did from his POV so he feels like they’ll understand)

- Maybe he even asks to come visit / live with them because he’s that mad

- They fly out immediately because they’ve always wanted to get their hooks in Christopher so of course they come when he calls and is upset (and maybe they’re even trying to take him back with them)

- They come in guns a’blazing, yelling at Eddie for all his “mistakes” (and his very real mistake of this disaster)

- He shows them a photo of Kim and they’re shocked by the resemblance as well

- Buck was over before the Diaz parents showed up but he hides, until he gets a call from Carla that says Chris is refusing to come home (still pissed)

- The Diaz parents swan off to go collect him, with some superior parting shot

- Buck and Eddie debrief about the conversation, with Buck walking the line between calling out Eddie for his real shit and reassuring him that most of what they said (about him being a bad parent in general) isn’t true

- They figure out a plan to handle Christopher together (because they’re his parents your honor!)

picture this: Bobby's finally out of the woods but now Eddie is in a mental health crisis, prompting Buck to look after both him and Christopher and the Diaz parents to hustle over from El Paso. They suggest taking Christopher for an unspecified period of time to take the 'pressure' off Eddie, and Chris is reluctant/reistant. They try to insist because 'we can't keep relying on Eddie's friend, he has his own life' and Buck steps in and says actually if you take Christopher now it may be the last straw for your son and then I'll become Christopher's guardian. So if you keep this up, I hope you're prepared to lose both your son and your grandson.*

the will reveal.... is real.... thats not something we just made up. this is never going to stick in my head. eddie chose buck to watch over christopher. buck. his single best friend. because he knows that buck loves the kid the same way eddie does?? that- thats canon thats in the show that's text. and im not supposed to go feral about it??

Mod M: I have a lot of feelings about this one. I could tell you about this fic from so many different angles, it’s insane. From the craft perspective, there’s things like the refrain of “Mom, listen” and how it becomes so instrumental to character development before we even learn where it’s coming from. Or I could talk about how it messed me up so wonderfully, the catharsis and growth and realism tying together in a beautiful moment that I sobbed after reading it. I could tell you about how I’m always a sucker for Outside POV, or how Mod A doesn’t cry but she cried over this fic, or a million other things. A new report, ” Six Disruptive Demographic Trends: What Census 2010 Will Reveal,” identifies six major trends that will likely transform the nation’s social, economic, and political institutions—and have significant implications for business, consumer markets, and the nation’s competitiveness in the global marketplace.

“The U.S. population is far different today in terms of geographical distribution, racial and ethnic composition, age mix, family types, and economic circumstance from what it was a decade ago,” says James Johnson Jr., co-author of the report and a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
