I love how, when Gerald asked/said, 'If you’re still sure', she paused, smiled, and simply said she’d tell him tomorrow. But when Siegfried asked if she was sure about staying, she didn’t even let him finish! Funny how one simple question can reveal who your heart truly belongs to.

I'm rewatching All Creatures Great and Small, and while none of Siegfried's love interests were particularly interesting or compelling -which was not the actresses' fault, obviously- I actually liked Gerald. Like, he was clearly a good guy, a decent man, and clearly fond of ms. Hall. Of course we all knew she and Siegfried would be endgame, but had things gone differently she and Gerald could have been happy together. It was good to see him as one of the gang, friendly with James and Siegfried -rather than seeing them as rivals, or disliking each other for no reason- and with and identity of his own.

Yes, he was really a good guy. I hope he found peace living in the Lake District, taking care of his sister, with Rock by his side.
