can anyone please inform me where the news of a third series was confirmed?? or where ridley mentioned it, like, ANYWHERE? trying to do some research and can’t find anything. help would be greatly appreciated.
Why don't you ship Wilby? Just curious.
Oh, okay, let me get into it. This is gonna be long winded because there’s a backstory.
When I was young I would hear about these books and idk, this was when I didn’t actually buy things or something and just read about stuff on Wikipedia. So I have this memory of literally READING about the books’ summaries on there, and over the years it would fly in and out of my mind. Then like a year ago or something, I remembered the books and was like “wtf Meg why didn’t you just read them” so I got my sister to order the books for me. APPARENTLY, at some point through the years I mixed up Charbeck’s and Wilby’s storylines (I think it was both; a lot of this didn’t make sense in my head) and thought they either didn’t exist OR led up to Willbeck. So I was there, at the beginning of the series, noticing interactions between them and being like “oh this makes sense they end up together.” I’m the kind of person who, if I see of a ship before I actually get into the fandom, is likely to ship them from the start. My mind literally never rooted for Wilby because of this, and honestly it sucks bc I wish I could ship them a lot. 😂 Super weird reason, I know, but I’ve always liked Willbeck so that hinders me from being Wilby 100%.
way back in book two, willa showed maybeck how to open a door with a credit card. now, all the way up to book two in the second series, he shows he remembers it in 1955.
Philby, since when has any suspicious behavior *ever* been an indication that someone's on our side?
Finn Whitman, Legacy of Secrets
i've never read anything as heartwarming as maybeck keeping children occupied.
I forgot I said this and it’s still so true omg 😂
ever remember maybeck kinda losing it and cursing as he pushes away from the table, saying “we’ve got to get her back” when willa was stuck in SBS in book four? yeah. me too.
